Finding Comfort
Following Friday's unfathomable event at Sandy Hook Elementary, I'm speechless. I've tried to wrap (and unwrap) my head around the tragic day. I've cried for the lives lost. I've cried due to the moving heroism of the selfless teachers on the scene. I'm angry and want immediate change on so many levels. And I'm paralyzed. I just don't have words and certainly not the right ones, if there are ever any under these circumstances. So, please forgive me for such an rambling and ineloquent post.
Although it will take time for our nation to heal, may we help our children and ourselves find comfort in each other, in the everyday, in each other's arms. May we find solace in the quiet moments, our favorite family activities, and the teachers who today will make our children feel whole and safe again. And may we open our arms to the community, offering prayers, love, friendship, support, and strength.
Love and light to you and yours.
